Salix caprea Pendula - Goat willow

Height: 0.8–1 m

An ornamental tree with a weeping branch structure, grafted onto trunks of various heights. In spring it produces silvery, yellow-anthered, panicle-like catkins. It prefers a sunny or partially shaded spot. Well-drained, nutrient-rich, slightly moist soil is ideal for it. Water requirements are moderate. After flowering (April-May), pruning the branches is recommended to encourage flowering the following year and maintain a nice shape. Planting as a specimen tree is especially recommended, to highlight its decorative form.
